You may fill out a contact form with your email and/or phone number, and Dr. O’Shea can respond to your initial query. A complimentary 10-minute phone consultation may be appropriate to further discuss your needs if it is not clear after emailing. For psychology services, the first appointment is often to determine if Dr. O’Shea is the right fit for you for what she can provide.

We offer both in-person and virtual services to support flexibility for families. In-person appointments are available locally, while telehealth services are offered to clients located in participating PSYPACT states. Dr. O’Shea is authorized to provide telepsychology services across state lines through PSYPACT, allowing access to care beyond North Carolina.
Telehealth services are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.

Dr. O’Shea is in the office for psychological services on
Mondays 11am to 4pm
Tuesdays 9am to 3pm
Wednesdays 9am to 4pm
Thursdays 10am to 4pm
Fridays 9am to 2pm
After school hours are in especially high demand and usually scheduled out a month or more.
Dr. O’Shea requests clients alternate time spots for appointments so more people have a chance to have the later times.

No. Dr. O’Shea’s office hours are listed above and do not include evenings or weekends.

Availability varies by service and demand.
Comprehensive evaluations are scheduled directly, with appointments typically booking approximately 4–8 weeks in advance. This allows for a thoughtful and structured evaluation process without extended waitlist timelines.
Therapy availability is more limited and fluctuates based on the current caseload. When openings are not immediately available, you may choose to be contacted if a spot becomes available in the future. Please note that timing for therapy openings cannot be guaranteed.

Dr. O’Shea. does not provide custody evaluations, court-ordered evaluations, or forensic services. Services are focused on clinical assessment, consultation, and therapeutic support, and are not intended for use in legal proceedings.
Evaluation reports and recommendations are not intended to determine custody or parental fitness.

Dr. O’Shea’s psychological services are billed at an hourly rate as follows:
Intake/Diagnostic assessment (first appointment): $250
Therapy: $220 (50-minute session), $185 (30-minute session)
Comprehensive Evaluations: $275 per hour- typical total cost range is $2600-3600
Other service fees are outlined in the client services agreement signed upon initiating services with Dr. O’Shea

Consultation services for professionals and for educational purposes and school and workplace settings are billed at the rate of $250 per hour of face-to-face time, preparation time, and travel time (e.g. to IEP meetings).
Technology and product consultation services are billed at an agreed-upon contract rate. Please contact Dr. O’Shea for more details
Pricing reflects the level of analysis, collaboration, and individualized guidance involved. Please reach out to discuss your goals and receive a more specific estimate.

Dr. O’Shea. is an out-of-network provider and does not participate directly with insurance plans. This allows services to be guided by clinical need rather than insurance limitations, including the ability to spend the time needed for comprehensive, individualized care.
Payment is due at the time of service. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits, which may allow for partial reimbursement. Upon request, a detailed superbill can be provided for you to submit to your insurance company.
Families are encouraged to contact their insurance provider to better understand their out-of-network mental health benefits, including reimbursement rates and deductibles.

Dr. O’Shea has formally opted out of participation in Medicare and does not participate in Medicaid. As a result, services are provided on a private-pay basis and cannot be billed to these programs. Clients will need to sign an agreement stating they will not seek reimbursement from Medicare for services provided.

Payment is due at time of service for psychological assessment and therapy.
A credit card is required to be on file in the electronic medical record system prior to attending the first appointment.
We accept Visa and Mastercard (sorry, no Amex or Discover).
HSA cards are accepted but will require a backup card if there are insufficient funds.
Professional and educational consultation fees are due at time of service and will be collected through a secure electronic payment system.
Tech and product consultation fees and payment method will be negotiated depending on the nature of the service.
